ALGEBRA (TIIT) – Transformation and internationalization of Algebra IT study program

Algebra University College successfully completed a project titled “ALGEBRA (TIIT) – Transformation and Internationalization of Algebra IT Study program” on 12 October 2021, after three years of implementation.

Algebra University College received a grant for the implementation of the ALGEBRA (TIIT) project under the “Internationalisation of Higher Education” tender announced as part of the Operational Programme Efficient Human Resources 2014-2020 from the European Social Fund. As project holder, Algebra has implemented the project activities in collaboration with BHV Education, leading advisers for studies abroad. With the grant awarded in the amount of HRK 1,776,882.94, the project was launched on 12 October 2018 through the conclusion of the official cooperation agreement. The project was realized over the course of 36 months.

The overall objective of the ALGEBRA (TIIT) project is to contribute to the strengthening of international cooperation at the level of higher education in Croatia and to facilitate the internationalization of Algebra University College as a higher education institution.

The project was successfully realized through the implementation of specific project activities. Algebra University College has developed and accredited a new Joint Graduate Study Programme in Computer Science – Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence developed in partnership with Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation (EPITECH) from France, we have developed and organized three English-taught short programs in the field of computer science as well as provided additional English language proficiency classes for the purpose of advancing the conversational foreign language competences of students, teaching and non-teaching staff at Algebra University College.

The successful implementation of the project ensured the fulfillment of all prerequisites necessary for further development of mobility programs for students and teaching staff at Algebra University College. Effective promotional and informative activities performed in collaboration with the BHV Education will ensure the sustainability and continuous multiplication of the final project results.

PROJECT RESULTS ACHIEVED:

Accreditation of a joint graduate study programme in Computer Science – Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence in partnership with the French higher education institution EPITECH using the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes.

Organization of 3 short programs in the field of computer science with a total of 63 participants:

First Winter School: INTERNET OF THINGS: Creating a Smart Home IoT System

Second Winter School: INTERNET OF THINGS: IoT system for patient monitoring using smart wristband

Third Spring-Winter School: INTERNET OF THINGS AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: IoT system for autonomous driving using computer vision and artificial intelligence

Organization of teaching for the purpose of strengthening the English language competences for students, teaching and administrative staff at Algebra University College in the duration of 3 years.

Through the development of a double degree study program in partnership with Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation (Epitech), a higher education institution from France, the development and implementation of three English-taught short programs in the field of computer science and the provision of additional English language proficiency classes for students, teaching and non-teaching staff at Algebra University College, this project aims to contribute to the internationalization of Algebra University College and the strengthening of international cooperation at the level of higher education in Croatia. The project duration is from October 2018 to October 2021.

As project holder, Algebra University College implements the project in collaboration with BHV d.o.o., a partner company from the city of Zagreb. The conclusion of an cooperation agreement on 12 October 2018 marked the start of the project.

Overall objective: Contribution to the improvement of the quality and relevance of higher education through the process of internationalization.

Specific objective: The development and accreditation of an English-taught double degree graduate study program in the field of computer science with Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation (Epitech), a partner higher education institution from France, the development and implementation of three English-taught short programs in the field of computer science and the provision of additional English language proficiency classes for the purpose of advancing the conversational foreign language competences of students, teaching and non-teaching staff at Algebra University College with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of higher education.

Project Summary: The project aims to contribute to the strengthening of international cooperation at the level of higher education in Croatia and to facilitate the internationalization of Algebra University College as a higher education institution. The project includes the development and accreditation of a double degree study program in partnership with Paris Graduate School of Digital Innovation (Epitech), a higher education institution from France, the development and implementation of three English-taught short programs in the field of computer science and the provision of additional English language proficiency classes for students, teaching and non-teaching staff at Algebra University College. Furthermore, the successful implementation of the project shall ensure the fulfillment of all prerequisites for further development of mobility programs for students and teaching staff at Algebra University College. Effective promotional and informative activities performed in collaboration with the BHV d.o.o. company shall safeguard the sustainability and multiplication of the final project results.
